I'm mainly posting so that Nexon sees my feedback, because it's not like there's a post-sub-cancellation survey I can fill out. I'm also posting my "I quit" story so other people who feel the same can quietly like the post, or agree in the comments. I know that won't stop the trolls though, so here go.
My list of reasons for quitting (until the game is done, maybe) is as follows, in no particular order:
Leveling is a horrible grind. Obviously I'm the minority here because most people have hit max level quickly and are consuming content as fast as Nexon can produce it. I'm not one of them, and that's okay. I just find it very difficult and frustrating that 1-20 takes a couple days playing casually, but it's taken a week per level (also playing casually) to get from 20 to 22. No, repeatable quests are not acceptable. If I wanted to run repeatable quests, I'd shoot myself in the face. Dailys ruined my tolerance for repeating the same quests over and over, and grinding was never really fun to begin with. I'm hoping once everything is translated over from Korean, they'll make a leveling XP reduction pass. We'll see.
Lack of account bound options. Spending $20 for a box of mount skins for one character is ridiculous. Not being able to share my Ellun with my other characters is silly. I can appreciate that they're an in-game currency, and you'd like to avoid inflation, but if I stop playing a character I shouldn't have to sit on a couple hundred Ellun while my other characters go bare. A 2-1 transfer rate would be appropriate, I think, with a 50 ellun max per day. (2 character bound ellun transfers into 1 account bound, and you can donate up to 100 per day for a max of 50 account bound.) The numbers can be played with, of course, I just want a way to get ellun to my other characters. Ultimately, this game is not altoholic friendly, imo.
Female armor and animations. Yeah, again, I'm in the minority. But it's really repulsive that not only do I have to wear skimpy robe miniskirts and thong plate bikinis, not only do my panties get flashed when I jump because why not, right, I also bounce quite painfully on the back of my mounts. Do I have no thigh strength? My tiny male wizard stays seated, no problem. My brash female Guardian, however, bounces like a toddler in a ball pit. I prance and tiptoe everywhere I go. Do I have to? Can I not just walk like the guys do? I have to heave my big sword over my shoulder on my Zerker when attacking, and when idle I let it flip over and my knees knock together. Is this necessary, really? I've heard zero feedback from the devs on this, so I'm going to guess that's the reality for female characters in the game, and it's disgusting. Can I at least get a female voice toggle with access to the female faces and hairstyles for the male avatars? I don't mind pretending to be one androgynous female, as long as I'm not grunting in a decidedly masculine tone in combat.
Graphics are bad. I know, beta. First of all, you're using that phrase wrong. Second, I'll come back when you make that optimization pass.
We'll see how things go. I think this game has promise, and 1-20 is a lot of fun. I like the grind for familiar collection, but the grind on everything else is excessive, so I'm out.
