My Ideas to Improve Riders of Icarus

Hi there,

I picked up the legendary pack because my curiosity got the best of me. I've played about 12 hours so far on live stream to level 19 and I have some immediate feedback on things which I hope can improve the game to bring it the standard other MMO's players are used to and then to exceed them.

1) NVidia Drivers crash Launcher.exe a lot in Windows 10 to the point I sometimes simply can't get into the game which will be a huge complaint once Open Beta launches if not fixed:
Faulting application name: Launcher.exe_unknown, version: 1.3.3718.38316, time stamp: 0x57721f28
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.10586.306, time stamp: 0x571af2eb
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x0000000000036544
Faulting process ID: 0x2ca4
Faulting application start time: 0x01d1d574f4a88517
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Riders of Icarus\Bin64\Launcher.exe
Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll
Report ID: 9ee9bdd2-c1fc-41da-af1f-fffba0948434
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:

To fix this I've had to do fresh install of my graphic drivers, clean my registry using CCleaner, use the sfc /scannow command in CMD.exe and while it did fix it a couple of times, it has found a way to break again and I've not been able to get back into the game since. I have also tried installing the game using the Nexon Launcher directly and the exact same error happens. Please fix ASAP, I want my friends to experience this game after launch.

2) The graphics for this MMO are great but as with Blade & Soul suffer from optimisation problems in the West and the FPS fluctuates hugely even on powerful machines at least with my experience with a GTX 970. You can refer to a guide like the following to see how I managed to fix the same problem in Blade & Soul, which turned it from a 20-60 FPS fluctuating experience to a solid 120 FPS dream:

3) The cursor usually disappears when you hold right click to look around in MMO's and it can be very distracting and get in the way that in this game it doesn't.

4) Dungeon Finder/Queuing - it is not immediately obvious at all how you for a group for a dungeon, and with an automatic dungeon finder/queuing system present in pretty much every other MMO, it will hurt the experience for a lot of players if not added in. It doesn't have to be a copy and paste affair, maybe when some creates a Normal/Elite/Heroic version of a dungeon give another player the option to join a dungeon in progress? Also remove the reset dungeon with Ellune feature, it will receive a huge amount of hate from western players when they see Ellune are bought for cash. Instead just put a cap per hour or something in case you are concerned about people resetting dungeons too often.

5) Controller Support - not overly important to me personally but a few have asked me if it exists, and an MMO like Final Fantasy XIV does controller support really well in a MMO setting.

6) Strafing - It is normal in an MMO that when you hold right click to look around, default A & D for move left and right turn into Strafe only with the right click is held down, then reverts after. Might help for the familiar feel.

7) Mounted Ability Scrolls - I would recommend either remove scrolls for new abilities such as Mounted abilities or make them stand out in your Inventory a lot with a glowing + or other symbol. I spent ages trying to work out why I couldn't do anything other than Auto Shoot with my crossbow on the back of a mount until someone told me to look for the scrolls I received.

8) Motion Blur on Mounts - I feel the motion blur on mounts is a bit too high can this be reduced?

9) Crafting/Gathering - I like crafting in this game more than say Blade & Soul, but could more explanation be made into Master Recipes and its necessity to progress with leveling Crafting?

My first stream can be found here, through out I give my recommendations if a developer is curious how a typical EU/NA player might react to the game:

I think that's it for my initial feedback. I am looking forward to hopefully a successful launch of this game to EU/NA and I hope my recommendations can help make this game more successful than any other free to play MMO currently out there. Good job so far.
